You're welcome :) Well, I don't have a specific order in which I antialias. A friend of mine likes to split the image into smaller parts and he then does them one by one to make sure he doesn't miss a spot, but IMHO it's overcomplicating. It is true that sometimes there is no 'space' to AA without losing detail or crispness, but sometimes it pays off to actually modify, say, the position of a finger or something to make it more 'antialiasable'. It may suit you to apply minimal extra crisp AA that for instance tomic likes to use sometimes. You can see it here: http://pixeljoint.com/pixelart/18689.htm It IS considered somewhat of a master-level technique, mind you, but it pays to practice it... Can't wait to see your finished entry for this week's challenge, btw!
It definitely looks more refined with the AA, but remember; you don't have to use every shade you can when you AA. Sometimes one colour will do the job just right, you just have to try putting the pixels in different places until you get what you want.
forgot to press "reply" on my previous message, here is a new version I hope I haven't forgotten too many places this time does it look more finished like this? in my opinion, in some places it's not as good as before(mainly around the mouth and the chin) the contrast is now lower and I feel it's "weaker" .. anyway, thx for your remark, I'll definitely me more carefull..
thx Ilkke for your comment, it may surprise you , but the only reason is I didn't see the unfinished parts at the moment I'm still pretty new to this medium and I really lack methodology for the technical parts.. May I ask you how do you proceed to AA? do you AA color by color? or from the top to the bottom of the picture... ?
thx for the compliment(s) the and yeah you're right for marlon brando.. I loved his play in the movie so I just typed "the godfather" in google and picked the first picture as reference.. At the moment it was this picture that came first.. used it for the clothes and the attitude of the character.. (I was surprised nobody mention it on pixelation ;) ) cheers!

This is great. I like your style, Kak. It's sorta like Big Brother's style, but a little bit unrefined...in a good way. His face seems to resemble Marland Brando, during his acting days in "The Godfather." Was he the main influence, or reference, by chance?

I'll keep that in mind, but I guess I'll need more practice to really "feel" it..
(And I'm also looking forward to your entry Ilkke!
