Colonel Duchamp and Cardinal Rousseau visit the witch-queen Hecate in Port-Au-Prince.
...Or something :P.

Tried some wierd color combos (for me) and definately could have used more time, but, then it wouldn't be a weekly challenge, would it?
Hope you like it. :)

this actually reminds me of Monkey Island 1 :)
probably because of the colours... and the monkey!

On one side this picture has a great lineart, which is very detailed and hasn't got any big anatomic issues which this piece could suffer from. on the other side the coloring just seems unfinished. My critiquepoints would be the colors in general (not very intresting ramps), and that this piece could be much better with a bit antialiasing and dithering here and there. But most likely you won't need this critique since you've just had not enough time. looking forward to seeing more of your stuff, looks already very promising :)

Thanks, all!
@Jalonso: You're absolutely right, it was...a bit too ambitious. Patience is one of the best things pixel art is teaching me.

@Stickman: Thanks! It was originally titled as the "Col. Duchamp..." etc. line. But I decided I needed something shorter. Obviously, this title is sooooo much  shorter .

@ Ikke: Ha! Yeah, it's pretty funky. Actually ended up with almost a black light feel (maybe?). Anyway, I wanted to try and avoid complete black and to experiment with dark shades of clashing colors. Did it work? I dunno...On the plus side I'm getting diability for blindness now.

@Rocky: It was flattened by the wheel of a wagon making an absinthe run. The driver, high on cheap wormwood juice, assumed the monkey was a hallucination. :)
But, yes...it is a bit. :)

Quite the ambitious entry considering you only had 1 week. Good job.

The monkey's tail is a bit square.

Well, you certainly managed to achieve weird colors! Hope your eyesight is still okay. :D
A very good entry, and congrats on using the entire allowed size.
Also, you are one of the few ppl to pull off accurate lighting.

I like the way this scene is lit and the title is great. Nice one!
