I kinda didn't really think much of your first pixel, now seeing this I went back and looked at it again. Your lines are a little messy here and there and some color choices could be better picked to better define areas (the tree stump in this case and 2 very similar greens on the eyes, for example) on both. Those nitpicks aside, you have all it takes to be a good pixel artist with practice, keep at it.
ps: This much adoration for your girlfriend posted on the interwebs could come back to haunt you...legally, lol.
