Yeah, that was an amazing work by Pheel and actually the only gigascreen work I can remember :) Now that I see a PC version I can swear it looked absolutely the other way on actual ZX. Less dark colors, more bright green and yellow.
Great pic! I remember that trick being used in some ZX graphics, like that great pic by Pheel. I guess those techniques tend to work better on old RGB monitors than on modern LCD ones :)
chanfan, yeah, going to every time and never do. But that's ok with me :)
The B.O.B., liar liar ;) As for the shine outside the iris, I see what you mean but the lighting coming from a top left coner can add such a brightness to that part. I know the result here may look like the eye is concave but still it seems right to me. Anyway thanks for the crits, always waiting for them from you :)
alkaline, I think the higher speed the better it looks. At least for me. Also the shine on the bottom lid makes it all messy (not all but the highlights).
ilkke, just can't sit calm when I have a final image, it calls to show it up :) It seems like same for you :D
Niss, never had Snes or any other TV plugin excluding ZX but I know what you mean :)
Ah I had to come back - yeah Speccy it was I just checked - oh but you answered that already :)
You know, when I looked at it zoomed in today it had that same look like when you didn't match the right channel on tv when connecting your snes or whatever but were very close to it.
Stop STOP you're almost there I can already see the capcom logo! Aww good ol' times :)
maybe if you slow down the animation a little i think the flicker will be more effective. some shine on the bottom lid would do some good, otherwise i really like this!
This is so frikkin' cool I can't even be bothered to zoom in and lose the feeling o.O

Annddd Fav'd. Sorry, I can't add anything useful, I'm not competent enough to critique anything with restrictions.

actually, there are some tiny issues. The top right portion of the top eye lid should wrap around back in with the eyeball. At the moment, it seems as if the lid is a curved banana curving stright down, instead of curving with the eyeball. Also, the white shine directly to the outside of the iris makes it seem as if the Iris of the eye is concave. Though strangely enough, I couldn't see the eye looking better without it...But yeah, you win comradshki...
Ah I see why IE is bad to use, because it slows downs the animated gifs. But I'm looking at it on Firefox. Anyway great work, cool animation I could tell pretty fast that it was by you, mabye because I'm pretty familiar with your animations.
well, I'm saying that on the edges, it kind of looks like a little strange up by where the eyebrow starts. It's not really easy to explain, it just looks a bit strange. maybe if it was blended a bit more. actually the other side is fine now that I look at it, plus I just learned that it has to be 128 x 128, so forget what I said about cropping.
inkspot, are you sure you are not using IE as it makes any animation slowlier if it's faster than 10 fps.
gotgothon, what do you mean by little strange?
Ens, thanks for the challenge!
HMC, I love shaking images for some reason + it reminds me of Speccy time (there was a mode to cheat with colors).
Niss, yeah, there was (speaking of ZX-Spectrum though) a trick and that's exactly what I was thinking of while making it :) It doesn't repeat it though. Just adds a retro feel in my opinion :)
bastard - that's just too freaking great! :)
Those shakeys of yours are always awesome.
Wasn't there a neat trick on the c64 switching images like this to simulate a far higher colourcount than possible with that resolution (I might mix it up with some other platform but I don-ät think so)?
Interesting effect, shaking it to simulate blurring, but I'm not sure it makes it any more impressive. I think I'd just rather look at it normal. Great job, though!
im assuming it's supposed to shake right? This is really good! I think I would crop it a bit, because the right and left side edges are a little strange.
