Definately an improvement.

But you should really ease up on the darkest shade of his face. Now it looks like a beard.

the face needs more work. his eyes are looking in diferent directions, thus the position of each element in the face is misplaced. i would move the mouth, nose and eyes 4 or 5 px to the rigth, then fix the eyes, and then move the mouth 2 or 3 px below. take those only as a reference. the rest is ok.
