Interesting, you pointed out the exact things I wasn't sure of myself.

About the hair:
I tried to do it more simple in the beginning but it didn't really look like the character with just shades unless I completely screwed up. It's also the first time around I've done hair in pixels :P

Thanks for the input! I'll see what I can come up with.

EDIT: Changed the mouth around a little. Looks better!

SCREAM.

Pretty cool, but not without it's flaws. You have a lot of excess lines in his hair, which could be more easily represented through simple shading rather than dark lines. Try to get rid of the lines and bring up the contrast in his hair and see what happens.

His mouth also needs to be lowered a bit away from his nose and towards the chin. And perhaps widened. D: He has a big mouth.
