My brother was currently in a production of "Into the Woods" as Jack. I really liked the costumes, particularly Little Red, so I decided to pixel her. This has taken me quite a while to render. I hope you like it.

Thank you both for the feedback. After posting my last reply I compared my artwork to some of the cool pixel art here. I converted both to black and white and noticed immediately how all my shades looked kinda of bland while theirs had nice balances of lights and darks. I'll see what I can do to improve it by using your suggestions. Thanks.
Perhaps yours and my screen are seeing it differently. Because of the such low contrast, the face and hair look like they came from a plastic doll. You need to darken the shadows mainly i think, on the skin, hair, napkin in the basket and red top. Perhaps also try to give the basket some depth, atm it looks very flat.
If you have any programs that can easily change the contrast or replace colours, i suggest you use them, instead of replacing each pixel.. man that would suck.
Personally I think your black shades are just right. The whites are too gray, keep the darkest color and lighten each shade up from there. I think the reds would look better if a bit darker, the lightest red color seems perfect though. Nice attemtion to details like the lace and waist
How do you think I can improve the contrast? Should I add some lighter shades to each of the colors? What in particular needs more contrast, everything?
