in my opinion it looks much less jaggy than a white (or bright blue) line on black, and I wanted it to have a slight glow so I don't see why it's a problem that it's unneeded. Basically I think antialiasing with such a palette is a very different thing from antialiasing with a linear ramp, and it comes out in a totally different result. It doesn't look like a clean line but that wasnt the intention. (If I wanted to have that I would have taken photoshops line tool, instead of making pixel art with paint).
There are some very small parts which could be changed a bit but overall I think the AA does its job here
thanks for the comments. setzer and ensellitis: it's true that it's toodark. I ran through a storm that evening I did this pic so I actually should know how bright it get's from lightning ;) I might rework it somewhen but atm I have enough of that palette ;)
I think perhaps there should be a brighter flare on the boat, top of the water, and the clouds, lightening is pretty damn bright, you know. very nice reguardless, though. great job with the AA
