Was going to be for the competition until I realized it wasn't within the restrictions and that I have no time to animate this. Ah well, it was fun anyway. (looks stovenish i know...)

Seems like the muscle ripples on the pecs, because they go all the way across the chest, appear like boobs or a transparent girl's bikini top. Not really a crit just an observation. i did fail to say I like this sprite, with you its a given that I'll like it, my bad.

w/e with the St0ven comments. We all draw inspiration from others, consciously or not. The muscle lines on the pecs do look a little odd tho.

Lots of anatomical errors in the chest area (they don't look like pecs at all). Also, when I opened this, St0ven sprung to mind IMMEDIATELY. When someone else's style jumps forward like that when you open a piece, you know you're doing it wrong. I love that you were able to take that tutorial for such a spin, but try doing your own style next time...

Great piece though, you really took the tutorial far beyond what it teaches you, so all is good.

for one thing, i didn't follow his tutorial. I learned how to do fighter faces from him(like a year ago?) but this face was done from scratch no reference. The sizes are different. The colours were not referenced from him. Look at the colours closer, same skin complexion doesn't mean same colours :/ I can honestly say the only thing that i referenced from st0ven while making this piece was his right hand position. And that's obviously not a copy since, once again the sizes are different.

I'm not denying i've picked up techniques from him(which is why he has tutorials?) but how is that different from picking up techniques from snk or capcom? I know where you're coming from so I don't blame you for mentioning it. I'm happy with what i've made and how I made it and that's all that matters to me.

No animation but I just finished another fighter :o (sort of :F)

Oh and plz google pecs dammit, they aint bewbs =P

this obviously follow up the st0ven fighter tutorial, there's a lot of similarities with the colors, the face and the hand that is close to a complete copy but as i looked closer you did have a touch of yourself in that and everything differs from the tutorial images, so ill give you props for that

the pecks indeed looks like bewbs

now animate it :D

This is great. I agree with Omenith about the St0ven-ness.
One problem i see is that his pecs look slightly like bewbs. Perhaps a bit too defined and/or roundly shaped. Then again that may just be me

Some anatomy issues, but balance and colors are good. Kinda reminds me of St0ven's fighters.

rocks. everthing looks right but the hands. especially his right hand looks very strange. great work otherwise though :)
