oh so insted of using colors for one different part I should use colors from differents parts to reduce the colors (hope you understood me, but I understood you)

EDIT: I normally would do that but the fact that every color is touching each other that closely resembles each other so it wouldnt work it would all be blended

with clean ramps I've meant  that you have some colour ramps (instead of a more mixable palette, see helms pictures as perfect reference for that) and dont even use colours from multiple palettes on one "object".

lol man, I figured you weren't on some shit :D I just like to fool around :D

anyway to me it's quite obvious that shading here involves slight hue changes (and radical hue changes on the bg :D)... so I don't think a clean ramp applies here. I'd only suspect a clean ramp on the green where the hue shift is apparently much more subtle

yeah I like this piece, sue me lol.

I did change the hue though with everything that had shading

@theguy: I think a clean ramp is when the color gradient is not changing its hue. You can often find the opposite in old school pieces for limited palette reasons, and also as a stylistic device in newer pieces.

no, I was thinking of puttin in the description "don't blame me, blame heroine and boredom" but I decided not too because it might make people think I took heroine to make this peice

I actually love this piece, including the dither.

the obligatory stupid question tho: did you draw the pic from your own experience?? lol!

theguy (Level 5 Rokkyu) at 5/29/2007 8:12:27 AM

what do you mean, clean ramps?

philipptr (Level 4 Team Leader) at 5/29/2007 7:54:58 AM
I think some style dithering would have fitted the theme much better, would have made more fun while creating and would have made this a much more intresting piece. also is there any reason why you decided for clean ramps in your palette?
