Ah, my first full mockup! For a small screen. I used NES palette because I love NES, grew up with it. I wanted to preserve the retro NES type shooter style while still adding some new modern elements to it.

at the first look it would say something is just wrong with the picture  - it must be the huge shadow of the bridge. the water is barely recognizable as a stream - it looks like there is a wall standing on the grass. house and palm trees don't have a shadow. (the house has, but only at the dirt) and your perspective is very undecided if to be from top or slightly above. the house roof is just from top. the people and trees are not. you could shorten the upper half of the roof, that would it make better.

Yeah, maybe you are right, Pharand, I never did much research on NES graphics too. But I never mean't this to be usable on NES anyway, I just wanted to add the retro feel to it to restore some childhood feelings. Hence the modern elements.

Very neat. Reminds me a lot of Star Tropics. Could just be the scenery though

Off comment, I could be wrong but I think the sprites may not fit with NES restrictions, because of sharing palettes across multiple sprites or something (hence the 3-4 colours per sprite a lot of the time). I dunno, I never really did much research into NES' graphical mechanics, but they just seem too... good... to really be authentic.

Very convicing - the palette makes my eyes hurt just like the original NES did.

I like the palm trees particularly - very Zelda-like.

I find the text and icons quite difficult to see. I think you could afford to make them slightly taller and maybe a different colour to contrast against the background. That would make them much more visible and raise the feel of the whole piece. Apart from that it's cool! Reminds me of Cannon Fodder

I love the colors on the mohawk guy and the window sill, my only crit is that maybe make the back of the roof a tad darker/shorter as it looks rather flat to me now. Otherwise excellent job all around. *thumbsup
