Oh, its definetely a design choice. And both ways make sense depending on the project and the coding. Here it was a standalone exersice so straight mirroring seems unneeded. Anyhoo, great topic of discussion. You two make me wanna make a shmup mockup, and I think I will :D

This is really spot on for the DDP style. I was almost ready to rip out the ROM and find something to accuse you of. Nothing has better pixel art than the shmups from the 90's.

It's true that planes, cars etc are mirrored that's fine. I meant the lighting not shape or volume. Even a little tweak here and there in the lighting removes the 'only half was done' look. It's just my personal preference which takes nothing away from your ship which I love, faved and gave the most possible dots I could, except one for the mirrored lighting :p

Thanks for the comments!ceddo & Setzer, true, I added smooth gradients here and there while original DDP enemies don't have any.
jalonso, they are all mirrored. Anyway why care about the mirrorness :) Planes are mirrored, cars are mirrored... Why shouldn't anyone mirror them? ;)

I'd say its more Dondonpachi inspired rather than Dondonpachi style. Still awesome. (Agree with Ceddo)

DDP has almost no AA and looks very rough, and this is very smooth; not that its a bad thing, but it might be a little out of place in DDP.still, I would procreate with it.
