I think some parts could use shadows, roughly around the tail, it seems flat imo.
Also the highlight on the dorsal fin, the bottom of it doesn't seem to blend as well as the other one's are.
Nice work though, you seem to be improving
the light on the underside is ambiency, and if this was a real object i guess it would be a model in a museum or aquarium or something. and that lighting you pointed out, i'm not sure what i'm going to do with that. i got somethin in mind, so i'll do it and see how it looks. thx for the comments guys
edit: kay changed the lighting a bit, and dark rogue, when you said it needs to be fatter, where is it needed?
edit2: smaller dorsal fin http://i10.tinypic.com/4um9m2p.gif is it any better?
I'd say the dorsal fin's just a bit long, and that it needs to be a little fatter. Is the orca floating or something, or is there a different reason that there's light on the underside?
Another thing i've noticed is that the light by the dorsal fin is existant. It just looks somewhat out of place. http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/4223/whayn6.png
It's sort of hard to explain. Where did you put your lightsource on here?
@hawkeye: thanks, i dont i'm going to change the outline, i want it to be consistent
@froginred: thanks as well
I love it! Looks really good. The only thing I can see that would make it look a bit better is if you changed the colour of the outline of the orca where there are white patches! Like the bottom part of the jaw for example.
Other than that really cool piece!
