--Best if viewed in a new window, layout chops off the edge-- Graphical (non-functional) mockup for CowPG, on the combat screen. An older mockup in flash demonstrating some of the animations can be found here. Basic rundown of gameplay is sort of a mix of turn-based SNES console RPG's like Breath of Fire with turn-based web RPG's like Kingdom of Loathing or Dragon Court. Basically it's planned to be a single player game with some multiplayer interaction (economy, pvp, chat, etc). Classes and breeds were already briefly explained on my character sprites piece. Monsters featured are chickenblobs and giant chickenblob boss monster.

Actually it's just using a lorem ipsum generator. It's pretty common in graphic design to use just for filler to see how the page looks with text. I don't even know what most of it means, but apparently it's excerpts from Cicero's "On the Ends of Good and Evil." Though since I chopped it up it's just gibberish.

The names were just random things I picked to reference at the time. Frontalot was from MC Frontalot, yes. Manny was from Manny Calavera from Grim Fandango. Edgeworth was from Edgeworth in Phoenix Wright. And the player name and the first character's name were a reference to the Mölly and Ringwald stop motion cartoon.

No, nothing's playable yet. We're HOPING to have the first the basics of the game done, and the first few areas and quests playable and being tested by the end of the summer, though considering how lazy the guy I'm working with has been on the programming end, I'm not sure how likely this is.

Ouch! you are so correct. May I suggest you head straight over to FFF (Fonts For Flash). 100% pixel goodness in sharp and beautiful faces. If you head straight over to check 'Harmony' you'll be pleseantly surprised.

It's actually not arial, it's tahoma. The difference is apparent in the fact that you can actually tell the difference between a capital 'i/I' and a lowercase 'l/L' (though I'm not sure there's any examples of that on the image). I'm open to suggestions if you can think of better fonts since it's so ugly and hard to read. I've never had any problems with it, personally.

It seems to be an oddity in that everyone complains about helvetica derivatives, yet everyone uses them, and nobody ever suggests anything better, or suggest something even worse. Of course, this might just be because I've spent too much time talking to graphics artists and fontographers.

Very nice mockup. No way thats hand pixelled type Adam. The uglyness that is Arial is apparent. Really hard to read too.
