This was a sample piece that I decided to elaborate on. I was applying for a gig as a bg artist on a commercial adventure project, but didn't have any sample work specific to the genre, so I worked this up. I was going for a retro Lucasarts-esque feel.
I didn't get the job, but it was fun, nonetheless... :)

Thanks for all of the feedback, guys...nice point on the perspective. The actual perspective of the room and horizon are accurate (most lines terminate at a vanishing point near the bottom of the left sconce), but the characters were NOT in perspective. I had been moving them around, to make a nicer composition, but totally forgot about keeping them on a proper plane for their size. I've edited the pic to put 'em in the right place. Thanks again :)
Lovely and crisp. The room is a bit empty but certainly has a great feel to it. Only crit is that the colors could be less 'pure', especially the red wallpaper could have a bit brownish or greenish dark tones. That would give more thereness to the room, I think.

I just noticed, but i agree with what omenith said the background does seem a littel out of perspective. Also the dresser might be too, i might just be imagining that
Professional stuff. I really like the portrait, characters and the text. Feels like the background outside the window is out of perspective though.

I love the vibrant colors, and for some reason i really like this. Glad you got around to submitting something its been a long time. I was reading your interview from a while back, and looking through your gallery yesterday.
