the empty space at the top is really bugging me it would be better if it was blue or something because it really draws away from the rest of the peace

Nice style, I like the rocks especially! The pipes look a bit flat though... but maybe these are no pipes? :)

I really like the rocks and the background. However, I didn't like the pipes and character as much.

I remember seeing this on Pixelation... I once looked at this image on the TV using the Wii's internet browser; it looked even better than it does on a computer monitor.
Will you be making a playable game out of this? 'Cause, that would be super awesome.
