I was looking to avoid the usual dithering techniques on this weeks challenge. I wasnt sure I was going to finish in time... but I think Im happy with how things are so Im calling it done.
It just seems to need more depth. It's mainly just the ground that seems pretty plain and doesn't seem to have much depth, but that's just what I think.

Could you elaborate? I mean, I put background and foreground elements, and shaded the unicorn to give him muscle tone. It seems to have plenty of depth to me, of course I may be a bit biased. I didnt feel the need to clutter it up with a truckload of scribbles. Perhaps the fact that I didnt use traditional dithering is whats bothering you?
I like the textured feel of the unicorn and the background mountains. The grass looks a little bit like bits of fire (maybe it's just the orange), but I think it works.
