I admit that the I'm not good in applying shadows,  but hope to improve.

I hope to understand your question: The profile gray would have to be the shadow of the balustrade on which the soldiers are in feet.

Nice! one tip: The shadows on the donkeys should be a bit higher up and have some volume. (Follow the shape of the donkey)

Whats up with the grey outline at the left side of all stuff?
