Okay, to cut a long story short, this is a part of an ad campaign pitch to Puma I was doing in January 2007.

The campaign was supposed to be centered around Puma's classic Suede/Clyde sneakers.

Unfortunately, the whole thing never came to life, so I'm just publishing it as part of my portfolio now.

OH, haha, I didn't even notice the (almost) pure CMY. All that struck me was the vividness. I'm all the more impressed.

thanks :) the colors were pretty much inspired by cmy on black colorschemes I used in the past on some projects, so that came in handy :)

This would have been stunning in print. Puma missed out.

I'm surprised at how well the colors hold up in CMYK.

so flattered to hear it from you personally :)

this one + the breakadawn are my 2 personal favorites.

and YEAH I really think pixels power in print + marketing are kind of under the radar :) which is cool tho, cuz it doesn't get played out that way. remember the awesome ecity eboy did for adidas samoa ('because cities are grey enough')??

thanks for all the favs lol ;)

The best insert of the bunch. I love these especially because it shows the power of pixels in marketing. I showed everyone at the office and you have been fav'd by all*.

* my fav = 14 fav's ;)

also, did you try printing gfx in huge zooms on art printers/giclees?

I found that subtle patterns look awesome on the monitor (you know when you look at the pic and then you're like wowww there's a cool dither pattern).. but on print if the color difference is not high enough it might even look like shit.. so for print it's better to stick with solid color fills, or make contrast on patterns more apparent

just freestyle ramblings from me lol

keep in mind this is a print ad, believe me in actual print the pure black brings out the colors better as opposed to a 'busy' dark bg :)

Really nice colours and the trainers look great! (I do reckon that a little more could be done with the empty black area)

hahah I'd never even think my work would be recognizable like that, thanks.
