anyway as you can see I worked on the framespeed a bit *stupid me had framespeed 0* - no wonder it didn't work

Just think that it could be a little faster, but pixelwise, it's flawless.

Something weird I noticed is that on the bottom two thrusters, you can still see the corners or even more thrusters underneath them, like the top one, since you just did that one and copied and pasted them.  I think the bottom two should actually follow the outlines like the top one.

instant jawdrop (& fav). I don't like how the jet prop is flashing, but that might be my taste.

It's like tyrian but better... I think the bobble with the miniship is a little hokey. A ship in null gravity wouldn't twitch like that, unless there was something odd going on inside. Most likely it would drift forwards for those frames- or backwards...

Btw I think that no background animation is a good thing. Parallax would be massive when you're that far out in space.

The thrusters are kindof too distracting, but it's still very awesome!

grave: in my experience that's only something you'd want for a static animation; when the background is scrolling underneath, that typically produces the vibrating effect (except when rendered with OpenGL-- OpenGL can sometimes be weirdly smooth in such a way that getting a better framerate actually can look smoother but worse.)

Squirrelsquid: I really like the colors you have used in this series of sprites. Inspired by Tyrian? :) If so, you're better at picking organic colors than the graphician for Tyrian - which leads to my crit for this picture: either the colors or rendering of the pink parts (center of ship and wing edge-parts) look too organic. I mean it looks (particularly the central part) like it will squish down if I press on it.. If it's a color problem, it might help to take highlight color from the engine exhaust and shadow color from the eyelike gem.

I think the big ship should vibrate alittle. Looks abit weird with it not moving a single pixel and all. The small ship should probably shake alittle less than it does at takeoff. I still love this, 8/8

Actually, I think the thrusters are meant to flicker much faster than gif's are allowed, and the whole thing is meant for a fast scrolling background....

then we have some hardcore 68K space carnage....
