Beautiful...fav'd.

Elwin (Level 5 Sniper) at 12/6/2007 5:01:08 AM
I really love this style! It's sorta cartoony, but still doesn't look too much cartoony ^^ 5 small blobs for you ^^;

Hîdan (Level 1 Gangster) at 11/25/2007 5:27:35 AM
Very nice colors, the sun in the water in very realist

Kaz21 (Level 1 Jukyu) at 10/18/2007 8:21:31 PM

Thats uber cool! Nice colours too...

Alecal (Level 1 Rookie) at 9/8/2007 12:55:57 PM

Gas 13 (Level 9 Federal Agent) at 7/30/2007 2:25:58 AM
Never heard of it. Just checked wiki regarding it and really there are some points to call it like that :)

- disturbing hieroglyphs;
- geometry of R’lyeh is abnormal.

Psiweapon (Level 1 Seaman) at 7/29/2007 7:59:06 PM
Real cool, although it makes me think more of R'Lyeh than of Atlantis.

NekoGirlEli (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/29/2007 11:13:10 AM
Whoah that is exactly how I imagined Atlantis too. Nice colour and contrast. The design overall makes me wonder if Atlantis really did exist at one time.

silent sniper (Level 1 Depressed) at 7/28/2007 11:29:07 PM

beautiful. 5/5

hunted rogue (Level 2 Quiet One) at 7/28/2007 2:17:57 PM
wow! I love the detail and the shading in this piece! The contrast between the light blue and the dark color is really awesome!

Stickman (Level 4 Deputy) at 7/27/2007 11:17:39 AM
Gorgeous Gas! This pic is so clean and has a very refreshing feel. I like the blurry effect on the last fish to the left.

Gas 13 (Level 9 Federal Agent) at 7/27/2007 6:33:47 AM
Well, my english is not my native language either and sadly I didn't get your idea even though I was reading it several times. Thanks for trying anyway :)

Btw, it's not an obelisk, at least I supposed it to look like some other hidden civilization with own language (the sign is to show that) and so on... :)

Waphex (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/27/2007 5:29:54 AM
ok first i thought there was some kind of obelsik ( the engraved stone on the right ) i thought that because of the pointy triangle at the left of the stone. what bothers me is that this engraved stone  is placed right on the horizon ( if i follow the perspectiv lines ) and i think you would improve the dynamism of the composition i these edges would follow the general composition direction wich seems to point the center top of the image. i don't know if i made myself clear (i'm french and my english is far from perfect so be indulgent =p )

Gas 13 (Level 9 Federal Agent) at 7/27/2007 4:24:11 AM
Thanks for the comments, guys!

Waphex, please let me know what part do you find symmetrical as I'm really confused. The rays over the stones are senseless, that's true. I just felt it look better this way :) On other hand it could be some reflected lights, right? :)

CoreyStuckey (Level 1 Depressed) at 7/26/2007 10:31:03 AM
This peice is very inspiring to me.

Kung-Gi-OH! (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/25/2007 10:53:53 AM
its such a beautiful representation of Atlantis--only done by pixel! ^__^ very cool!

BlingShyne2 (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/25/2007 8:06:52 AM
Wow dude, thats wicked looking, great job.

Starchild (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/25/2007 5:43:33 AM

woah! That's amazing! Congrats! The palette is the best.

dich (Level 4 Murderer) at 7/25/2007 5:42:49 AM
Great work! Respect!

rajkosk8 (Level 3 Private Eye) at 7/25/2007 4:49:04 AM
very cool and inspiring gas. i like the light and overall feel.

BlackEye (Level 2 Quiet One) at 7/25/2007 4:47:56 AM
hehe yes, gotchi fighters was fun. i guess nowadays, having such a big community of pixelartists, it would be easier to get gotchies drawn and animated

but nobody really knows what a mess the sourcecode was =)

Waphex (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/25/2007 3:53:52 AM
very nice job ! too bad that the obelisk is too symetrical. it would gain to point the light to improve the composition. a little detail also bothers me, the rays of light over the stones, they seems not coming from the source of light. anyway, great work, the color, the design and the texture are cool !

Gas 13 (Level 9 Federal Agent) at 7/25/2007 3:38:01 AM
Thanks for the nice comments :)

ilkke, updated description with steps. As you see, choosing colors was a real problem during the process and I was changing palette like 5 or 6 times. If you have any tips or ideas, please share, would be interesting.

BlackEye, just a day ago miascugh were commenting Osmi recalling sweet Gotchi Fighters times :) Really glad to hear it's inspiring for you.

AdamPlays, agreed, it's always easier to get a good-looking underwater landscape than... than... anything :|

crusader333 (Level 1 Jukyu) at 7/25/2007 3:19:40 AM
wow that's beautiful... I love the layout of the whole thing

iLKke (Level 7 Mass Murderer) at 7/25/2007 1:55:58 AM
Excellent!
Maybe you could work on the colors a bit more?

jamon (Level 8 Marshal) at 7/25/2007 12:44:30 AM
Fantastic work!

BlackEye (Level 2 Quiet One) at 7/24/2007 11:03:55 PM
gas, gas, gas... you improved so incredibely fast over the last years since i know you (while i still stand at the beginning and didn't move in any direction >_<).
i absolutely dig the stones - the way you first draw a sketch colored and put layer after layer over it for choosing the colors is cleary the right way.
The image makes me "Yeah! I want to pixel something... blasting... amazing"

Absolute fav'd and whatnot :)

Deltakatachre (Level 1 Depressed) at 7/24/2007 9:46:42 PM
that's absolute

Framin (Level 2 Quiet One) at 7/24/2007 9:15:58 PM
Very nice :)

David Stoner (Level 1 Rookie) at 7/24/2007 8:33:50 PM
I foresee two in a row.

AdamPlays (Level 6 SWAT) at 7/24/2007 8:07:09 PM
You should stay underwater more often.  You have that type of environment down to a tee.

BadMrBox (Level 2 Quiet One) at 7/24/2007 5:54:51 PM
It's very lovely :)

soda (Level 9 Vice President) at 7/24/2007 5:17:01 PM
Another amazing entry by GAS, great job on the whole thing.

skeddles (Level 9 Necrophiliac) at 7/24/2007 5:13:42 PM
