Nice picture. Has a very children book/bob the builder feel to it.

I like the cute style a lot... and I think the background is fine in white. The only thing that bother me is the black colour on the tools, I think it clashes with the other colours, as even the darkest bits under his cap or on his neck are still quite light in comparison.

I would make the background transparent. but the character it's self is really cool
