I don't see how you can just say "i don't like dark and gloomy trash". It's not like it's full of evil, brainwashing us or something. It's just a style, and disregarding good art just because you don't like "dark and gloomy" stuff seems like a waste.
Anyway....24 colors? I'm still trying to figure out how you could possibly get this much detail with 24 colors. I take my hat off to you.

Good lord, that's a lot of points. Oh, wait, you wanted me to comment on the actual picture?
I love it. It's almost photorealistic, (save for the walking skeleton with a spear, and that monster-type thing. :P) yet it only uses 24 colors. This is something that nearly everyone can learn from to effetively use as few colors as possible, yet create a lush enviroment.

I love this style. In the past I was playing games with that kind a graphics.There are so few games with that kind a graphics nowadays. If you want to make a game based on that kind a graphics, just write to me. I am a programmer, so I can help you ;)

Yep, those are some issues I thought about a bit while I was making this. The way I think I'd fake it, should I make a game with these or similar graphics, would be to have the reflections on the same layer as the moon. The water and the reflections would be animated, and I'd simply draw that layer over the water. Sure it wouldn't be perfect, but the animation should mask the dodginess of the effect a little. ;)

Woohoo, that one's nice :)(Hmm, I imagine it would be hard to actually make that one scroll nicely - either the background doesn't scroll (I'd expect the water to move a bit, at least), or the whole background scrolls together (the moon would look weird), or parts of the background scrol at different speeds (in which case it's hard to keep the reflection of the moon the way it is)

pretty sweeeet stuff here! The work shows off much skill. The moon and its reflection on the water is particularly nice. Although you art is great, i get the feeling the placement of character and backgrounds and stuff is a little un-inspired. I love the Score and Health bars though!Im some ways it reminds me off a klik game I made for a halloween competition a couple of years ago. The graphics are dated, but I can see similarities. How could you forget this gem? This reminds me of one of the best sidescrollers ever -- Ghouls and Ghosts. The water, pathway and hills are superior work. I love the shank and sword combo too.
