Eyo, folks! So. . . there you have my first (and as far the last as well) attempt at evoking the C64 magic, Hi-RES mode (2 colours per an 8*8 square, y'know) -- the one released at Riverwash `07 (put into an Oldschool GFX compo, together with other Amiga and PC pieces). Finished #2 (out of 5 places), lost to Slayer's "Stars Die". No hard feelings! Love it or hate it!

Thank you, Ptoing, for your GREAT assistance!

Skurwy87 (Level 6 Made) @ 7/29/2011 17:37

wow, that looks cool! thanks for utilizing the piece and sorry i wasnt around to reply. well, as im watching the demo now, it seems the samurai withstood the conversion better than industrial dawn. big up and keep creative ideas flowing!

Skurwy87 (Level 6 Made) @ 11/2/2010 09:48

I'll quote myself: "Yes, I was quite inspired by some of Lackey's works as well as Helm's and Ptoing's."

The Temple piece was probably my main inspiration, though.

enkryptor (Level 1 Depressed) @ 10/29/2010 01:45

Hehe, THANKS! Believe me, I didn't expected such a WARM welcome! In fact I was sick of that picture in the end and it was Ptoing who helped me a lot to make it fresh again. The right-side piece meant to be something of a junky temple against a background of a mountain valley. I put a lot of small details on it, you can interpret it on your own (there's even a crossing with a stop sign and Anubis' head, I heard, hehe). Yes, I was quite inspired by some of Lackey's works as well as Helm's and Ptoing's.

Reo (Level 11 Sphinx) @ 8/27/2007 02:41

Fuckshitcock! The preview got me fooled. I suspected Ptoing!
This one is going straight to the top of the week's crop, I have a hunch.
Very fresh!

Josiah (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 8/26/2007 18:47
This is excellent!

inkspot (Level 4 Button Man) @ 8/26/2007 17:38

pmprog (Level 4 Murderer) @ 8/26/2007 17:33
Cool. Reminds me very much of this piece

cure (Level 11 Pixellite) @ 8/26/2007 17:23
It's Frootlooptopia, silly.  Badass image, great work with the restrictions.

Carnivac (Level 8 Behemoth) @ 8/26/2007 16:48
I really like the left hand side of the image, but I can't actually make out what the mass of colors is on the right.

Skurwy87 (Level 6 Made) @ 8/26/2007 16:37
