My bro recently got Dawn of War: Dark Crusade I Play as the necrons lots. Flayed Ones are amazing My first attempt at AA really.

EDIT: Got rid of the shocking AA. Adjusted body size and shape

EDITED EDIT: IM prolly gonna start re-doing this today....hopefully

Last I checked, the Necron's armor was sort of a dull metal. the tan bits look a bit off, but otherwise it's nice.

I still think you could boost the contrast on it a bit(add more shine, if he's wearing some type of metal armor), and reference from some still screenshots from the game and character itself. Always remember, you don't have to use the same color ramp(ie, basically just make green lighter or darker value...), but rather try using complementary colors and tips from color theory to make it look more interesting. Aside from that, I just want to say thanks for actually listening to my critiques, and being so patient. I feel this thing has waited long enough in the queue...for more tips, I'd suggest sending this into the pixeljoint forum...

Jal's right. This is why some pixel artists tend to use black outlines on their sprites, so that they blend easier with most backgrounds. I would suggest getting rid of the unneeded gray/white AA, and then replacing it with a black outline. This will be alot easier on the eyes. The pixeling on the inside may also need some work. True, you don't need billions of colors to make a good piece, but separation, difference, and contrast of hues definitely do make a difference. At the moment, some parts seem like they aren't finished, like the green armor. If it is armor, than contrast(range of black to white values in a color, i.e., how darkness and light relate to each other) is very important to the shine. Right now the green seems murky, and they don't separate as well from each other. I've never played the game, but I'm sure the creatures legs weren't that small in comparison to the body. When I looked online for pics, I found that the "Necrons" bodies are primarily based off that of a Skeleton(although, a little over stylized, but you get the point none the less.). Therefore, his upper body should be that bulkey/boxey. I'd try referencing the game's pics a little more.

hmmm... go to your profile page and check the 'themes' section, change to anything dark (many PJ users have these),  then come back and check out your AA
