Thanks, I've found that sparse dithering is key in black and white. And thanks for the comment. I'm glad my work attrtacted the attention of such greats as Dogmeat, Jalonso, and yourself. YOu guys are gods to me.
Thanks. I was really pleased with the dithering and it remains my favorite part. I've found that dithering is very hard to use effectively in black-and-white pixel art, it usually just looks messy. I did about six different versions of this one trying to use different dithering patterns for the clouds and water before I realised it didn't need any dithering in the first place. I was especially proud of how well the dithering turned out because I am still fairly new to pixel art, so dithering is hard for me in any case.
I have actually done almost all my pixel work on my graphing calculator... they usually start as random doodles and lines (easy to do with the "pen" tool) and every once and a while it turns into something good. A couple of months ago I did a really great picture of Batman, but then the batteries died an all the pictures got erased. Every time I tried to do a new one, I would have to start over. But a few days ago, I started drawing during class, and got the Batman pic that is currently waiting approval. I was so pleased that I decided to painstakingly copy it, as well as the others I have saved on my TI, onto the computer so I can post them here. I still have a few others I'm finishing, but more are coming.
