B.O.B. - Baby of Banishment :: Pixel Art Detail

I see the problems with this:

1. I didn't spend a lot of time with the image itself, it was more of palette practice. Look for my bed of bones submission sometime this weekend to see what I've learned.

2. Originally the image was larger, the "rocks" were a swirling cespool of shiny matter flowing around the baby. The baby was supposed to look as if he was being sucked down into a torrent. Later I changed the image and focused more on the face of the  baby and playing with the palette on the other areas.

All in all, this challenge has been challenging for me, but I've learned a ton in this week alone and definitely see improvements as I rise back into being a pixel artist.

Face is very smoothly renderred, but the rest looks rough and noisy. I would imaging some psychic aural kind of thingy would have smooth aaed edges.

I think that it doesn't have anything to do with Banishment. It's kind of small.

I guess I could have done that and called him the baby of bile

Oh that's a hand?  I thought it was one of those alien's inner mouths coming out of the babies stomach.  Now that would have been awesome!

Thanks BOB, I actually tried to design this in such a way that it leaves the interpretation of whats going on completely up to the viewer, is he being sucked in? Is he reaching out? who knows :) Either way, look for my next addition to the collection: Baby of Bones

In my day, I have seen many of these....creatures. Dreadful they are, though, only mentioned not even once a fortnight. It's nice to know someone out there gives them recognition.

Heh, this is pretty creative. The face of the baby is obviously recognizable, but the lower portion is fairly hard to distinguish. I'm not sure if it's the baby's hand itself, or just a handprint left in stone. Either way, the stone textures around it really look great....and Yar, I do like it...
