Yes Surt, This is the curve of the road. I've asked me the same question concerning the gradiant (more gradual) and I will take that correction.
I work with the 256 colors palette of my game soft and for the pavig I've exploited the lot of the grey.

Nice pieces, buildings are beautifully lit, particularly the corner with the high window is astounding.
Still a couple of issues I think:
  • I can't work out what the dithering at the edges of the road is meant to represent. Is it the curve of the road surface? If so I should think it would need to be much more gradual across the entire width. Is it grime accumulated in the gutter? If so it should be much less regular. Is it the shadow cast by the guttering from the lamps? If so it should be much tighter to the road edge and sharper.
  • Also the paving looks a rather noisy, maybe reduce contrast of shades or add some more blending shades.

Nice work. Especially like the dithering. Looks great. Also like the lightning. Buuut, like MrMister said... weird streetlight placement. Still looking awesome though ;)
