Update of old 8 bit game 'Werewolves of London' (CPC version pics at http://www.cpczone.net/index.php?game=1123 ). Obviously not using the old widepixel look, and also now using the full width of the screen res rather than the cropped window of the old game. Also using height of 240 to add 'widescreen' borders for more cinematic look. Old version was like that sorta on monitors anyways. No more time left to refine bits but I'm happy with it as it is. Tried some stuff I hadn't really done before and found me a different way of drawing characters I hadn't done before either, so yeah. Oh yeah the werewolf is the main player character, so yup, much killing fun to be had.

I quickly fell in love with this piece. you captured the early 90's arcade style perfectly. seems like that wolverine looking character got ripped to shreds. as sputnik noted, the blood bag is brilliant. as for the wolf's next meal, seems more like a business guy shielding himself with his briefcase.

I don't know the original game but your mockup looks really good, the characters are detailed and expressive, and their pose is very dynamic.

what the hell, i thought I commented, rated and faved this already? I think i'm going nuts. Anyway wolvie, I love this, it's absolutely brilliant. Not only does it look good, but it looks playable and immersive. I especially love the stuff in the BG, good to see you didn't slack there. Great work.

might benefit from use of another near-black for smoothing, but very nice nonetheless and the harsh dirty look of the value gap is not undesireable in this case

I know the feeling. Was just browsing through the top rated pixel art of this sites history and darn, theres some amazing stuff that are way above my current skills.

Sometimes I look at some of the stuff on PixelJoint, and it just depresses me, and for a couple different reasons:

1. I wish I could have the knownledge to be that good

2. I wish I had the time to be that good

and 3. Because I wish these images and mockups could be actual screenshots of available games.

Great job on this! I love the Werewolf. The other characters are funny and it makes for a great scene!

What I hate about great mock-ups such as this is it makes me really want to play the game, but the game doesn't actually exist. So then I'm all pissed off. Thanks a lot!
