I really do not know if I definitely understood rules of this weekly challenge but this is my contribution, a remake of NES version of Bionic Commando. (I always dreamed to play it when I was young without ever having opportunity...)

Palette and style is more like Coleman not Dan Malone.

As others mentioned below The Dan Malone influence is strong here, but I think that's what makes this piece special. Great colour and attention to detail. Everything is well rendered and readable. Very good mock-up. Inspiring stuff.

It's really cool!

But this isn't using the NES restrictions, like momovampire alluded to. Also, your resolution of 256x224 isn't wrong.

16-bit and Beautiful.

This is what the NES would have been like had Nintendo chose to use 68k-level processing power for their new "home video game system" (but it would have been too expensive to become a historical phenomenon) ...

Very nicely done.  Was never that into the game (found the grappling thing more annoying than anything) but I'd play it a lot if it looked like this.  Like Surt says this does feel like a Bitmap Bros game, and this is how the game should have looked on the Amiga.  Faved this.

Love these, colours and dithering have a real Bitmap Brothers feel.
