wow I'm kind of surprised by the negative reaction, myself.  I think it's clever, but I'm glad you're looking into improving it. 

Maybe post it on the WIP forum?  It'll be fun to watch the progress, you seem to be open to learning, I'm sure you can take this a long way

Well you certainly don't have to take it down, I'm just trying to be constructive about it.  The forehead shouldn't be shaded so much, i think that's just dirt in the reference.  Also, adding a neck and shoulders would help give more atmosphere so it doesn't look like a disembodied head. 

I thought the joke was funny though.  It just could be executed a little better.

You were inspired by a piece that was poorly shaded and it resulted in a piece that's shaded even more poorly.  I would have looked to the actual movie than use something that isn't truly inspirational.
