At first i thought this was done with 3 colours and transparency. I'm very surprised with the actual amount used. Next time, remember to conserve your colour count or at least use the ones you have more effectively.

Looking like an auto-gradient is not always a compliment. An auto-gradient to me speaks of an inefficient use of colours (usually resulting in an excess of otherwise unnecessary colours).
But... the dithering here doesn't reflect the smoothness that I associate with gelcaps. Exhibit A I think it'd also be pretty nifty if you made it transparent/lucent like the one in the picture.

I don't mind that it has too many colors, it's your choice when it comes to that. But you could have cut down on some colors and still have the same results. Also, the top seems way too bright for my liking.

I thought it was an egg of some sort at first. Try making it divided with one side red and the other white.
