Man, you people need to get the sticks out of your asses. Sorry, but come on, that gradient does not detract at all from the actual pixelwork (even tho it the gradients could be a bit nicer done).
But it's imo no reason for exclusion.

You would have to kick most of Kenneth's mockups with the brushed skybackground out as well, and you do not do that. Let's not start silly doublestandards here. As long as the gradient does not detract from it, who cares.

I think it's always in the public queue because of the dithered bg fome brown to green, remove it, and it will be ok.

You will need to remove the BG gradient for gallery inclusion.

BG here is not necessary part of picture, not a trick and it is obvious that it is gradient, there are works on PJ with non-PA BGs. Simply when PA is good you can shut eyes on some aspects. But for the sake of democracy it would be better to remove them if possible. Seems, however, that artist has some kind of language barrier. Sad fact, because pictures he posted so far are quite interesting.

Great sprites but those gradients make your work non-pixel art.  Unless you did them by hand...which would take a while and use lots of colours.
