I did spend a lot of time on this pixel. This time was not spent on shading it, animating it or making it come to life, instead I aimed at giving it a weird and uncomfortable feeling.

I talked to Jal via PMs and was ready to let this go, I even felt that I maybe came on a bit strong myself. But "It's childishly drawn and lacks any form of artistic endeavor." is a bit much for me to take, at least coming from someone who runs the site. I think I will take my leave now before I start more trouble. I'll still keep visiting the site, though. There's a lot of good stuff here, and it's a nice place to get inspiration. Keep it up.

cactus_squid: Firstly, I am the one who rejected this from the queue. It's childishly drawn and lacks any form of artistic endeavor. Drawing simple black lines and then using the fill tool does not grant you the power to say you spent alot of time on it. There's more to pixel art than that and I consider this to be a Work in Progress more than anything else. If you feel this is you doing your very best and you don't want to spend more time learning this particular form of art I suggest moving on.

Don't let this be another instance of elitism on our part because we've all been here at this stage of our craft. The difference is that some choose to learn and get better whereas others want to gripe and moan and give up at the first opportunity.

This one took quite a long time to draw actually. I find it a bit insulting that you removed it. Plus, I usually draw things that look very simple to some people, meaning that I probably won't be able to submit a lot of content.

if it were for me to decide I'd let this in. noobs will find ways to be noobs anyway, always.

Man your stuff rocks. This however is just too simply drawn and will only cause grief for the staff since its easy to claim 'but you let that in, why not mine?'
