Tried to use all of the c64s gray tones (black to white, 5 cols) for the background. The limitation is that the black and white can't reside on the same 8x8 tile. Managed to squeze in 3 'big' enemies as well, it's a total of 21 sprites on screen (including the 2 score sprites).
Really got the urge to try and set up a demo of this...
