Visionary pixel art anyone?

Made fore the oldschool graphics compo at the JRP V party.

I won the compo with it!

Made with my trusty old Amiga 1200 and Deluxe Paint.

Hope you like it!

Oh, yes. The resolution is 320*256.

Frost (Level 6 Serial Killer) @ 1/19/2009 12:35

Wade: No, It has not been used for a scene mag. Not yet anyway...
I have two other pictures in my gallery (Uglukk and Älgaråsgabber) that was used as titelpics for Jurassic Pack, and another picture that is yet to be uploaded here.

user
Wade (Level 1 Rookie) @ 1/19/2009 08:07
Great pic and classic pixel work! Was this used for a scene mag at some point?

user
Antiboton (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 1/1/2009 21:54

So smooth! Just fantastic, love the style.

user
LegacyCrono (Level 1 Rookie) @ 2/14/2008 03:48

Reminds me of National Treasure. xD

That's simply beautiful. I like it a lot!! Almost couldn't see the dithering, the work is near perfect!
But I think that tree is... weird. Well, ignore that, it's just a personal though. xD Good work! (Fav'ed btw)

user
wiseman (Level 1 Jukyu) @ 12/21/2007 05:30
Looks like a painting. Beautiful.

user
DevonR (Level 1 Intern) @ 12/19/2007 23:31

user
silent sniper (Level 1 Depressed) @ 12/14/2007 15:40

user
Acherhar (Level 5 Lieutenant) @ 12/13/2007 17:58
This is such a beautiful and thought-provoking piece, well done, very well done.

user
Doomcreator0 (Level 5 Assistant Manager) @ 12/12/2007 16:23
This is real pixel art. I love how the dithering is so easily seen yet it blends so well.

user
Kaiseto (Level 6 Made) @ 12/10/2007 18:34
Alright, I really like this. I like the color choice, the general theme, and most of the execution, but I do have a problem. All of the shading seems to be the same, regardless of the surface. The tree is shaded the same was as the stones.

The only real suggestion I can offer is changing to an irregular dithering pattern when working on certain materials to evoke a specific kind of texture, like bark or stone. Still, even with that shortcoming, it's an excellent piece.

There's PIXELart, and there's pixelART.

This is an example of pixelART, and I definately like it a lot!

user
mrduke (Level 2 Flatfoot) @ 12/10/2007 04:26
This is true pixelart! I love it!

user
mikl3 (Level 7 Sheriff) @ 12/10/2007 00:41
8/8

user
Carnivac (Level 8 Shodan) @ 12/8/2007 03:22
I like the colors a lot and I like the use of dithering (rare for me).  I just don't care for the image itself.  It's really well done but it doesn't really appeal to me personally though something about the tubes and plating on the triangle reminds me of Chaos Engine which is a good thing.

user
Solid Pixel (Level 1 Intern) @ 12/8/2007 02:31

Very impressive work. Love the palette choice, especially for the moon.

user
exocet (Level 6 Major) @ 12/7/2007 16:10
Nice! I like how abstract this is and the palette you went for. The eye actually reminds me of the one in this wild demo that I just saw yesterday: http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=33972
(Not insinuating you were inspired by this very demo, I know the eye of providence is a common symbol...)

user
Snovind (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/7/2007 12:13
The style is just fantastic.
I'm loving it

user
Huggkruka (Level 1 Rookie) @ 12/7/2007 12:13

user

looks like millenium puzzle

user
mikemayday (Level 3 Hatchet Man) @ 12/7/2007 09:28
Get it right guys, this type of art is called surrealism, not abstractionism :P

A very good, pixely surrealism, if I may be so bold!

user
smartmex91 (Level 1 Private) @ 12/7/2007 09:28
Awesome job! Truly makes you think...

user
Setzer (Level 8 Cannibal) @ 12/7/2007 09:04
There are two things I'm not loving about this =( The outlines, they seem very out of place since the sand at the bottom has none, and the way the sky sort of bevels the mountains in the background, makes it feel much like it isn't a sky at all, but maybe it isn't? =p just looks weird, apart from those things I mentioned, I love this, especially the colors used.

user
MoonPanzer (Level 1 Private) @ 12/7/2007 08:45
Waohs!! This has instantly made it into my top 5 list of pixel art pieces. Ohyash, and that usually takes alot of time to think about (for me). I realy like it. I dont know the exact reason why but, I do. MORE! (pl0x)
