This is The Nameless One, a character from an amazing PC isometric RPG known as "Planescape: Torment," drawn in a kind of SD manga style.

I don't know if this deserves to be here because it was drawn in an oekaki applet, but I didn't use any smooth brushes of any kind and the only non-freehand/filltooling I did was the dithering in the background which was a tool that came with the applet. All other shading I did myself by hand.

I'm satisfied with everything but maybe the hair and the skullbelt. I think I might draw a weapon into his right hand sometime. I would've drawn Morte too, but, as you can see, I'm no good at skeletal figures.

I don't know what TNO's reaching for exactly, I just wanted some kind of dramatic pose with a light source.

I change up this piece alot, so it might get some edits in the future.

I guess you're right, by the time I finished the character I just wanted a quick background and that's why I went so overboard with the tool
I planned on redoing almost 30% of this in the future anyways, including the background, so I'll just remove this and save the space.

Yeah, I'm not at all against dither tool use, but use it with a pixel size brush and at pixel level detail, neither of those seem to be the case here.

I'm kinda on the fence about this. The dither brush may be used when you can control it (a means to speed the process) I just don't know how random the applet placed the BG. It is better if its removed or reworked, imo.

Oh, okay.
In that case, I'll remove all but three of my submissions :D
I'll keep this for future reference, if that's possible.
Thanks for the help!

Mmmm... yes, unless you'd carefully pixeled and shaded and dithered it by hand which is astounding and unneccessary amount of work which only mad demosceners capable of. Care, clearness and meaning of each pixel - is what counts. 'muzumuzu!', though, is completely allright.

Alright! Though, this is the only one I made with oekaki software, most of the rest I did in MSPaint with frequent freehand use. Do those still count as oekaki?

Yeah, pics like 'muzumuzu!' belong here a lot more. As to delete it - I no doubt that most of oekakis will be sent to revision, so I'd suggest deactivating those which you made with oekaki software, maybe leaving just this one for discussion.

Ahh, I see, my apologies!
I knew I was risking it posting oekaki, but I didn't know pixel art didn't include freehand because I saw a tutorial here that encouraged starting with freehand sketching followed by cleaning up the lines. Sometimes I have trouble with the distinctions.

Should I delete it? Most of my bigger stuff is has some elements of freehand, so I can delete those too and just start anew with pixel-only?

I should have mentioned this earlier, but these pics are oekaki, not pixelart. As today PJ has no sections for oekaki (except maybe some topics on forum). Pixelart is where you draw pic pixel by pixel, and here you obviously sketched by freehand.
