Felt like trying something a bit different, so I did a pixel version of Sorayamas "Gynoid # 9. The helmet was the worst part as I realized it would look crap with dithering and I would like the colour count to stay as low as possible. I used a quite different palette than the original because maybe (and just maybe) I'll use the head as a part of some secret level in my game. Kinda Mother Brain-wannabee or something. That's also the reason why I insist on the black outline around everything, to match the style of the game. I've used a bit more AA than usual. Mostly in the face because I want it to look softer than the helmet. I think for this piece, the way you cropped it in the preview was a good choice. out of it's circle it's a little strange.

the dithering on the face gets rough around the yellow and orange, too large of a leap, otherthan that, very nice.

This is very awesome. I understand what you mean about the helmet. I think you are missing the vibrancy of the shine that can be seen in the ref. The bright parts just aren't bright enough, but it's fantastic all the same.
