you can have 3d on a computer, just because u can't touch it doesn't mean it's 3d.

Also isn't iso 3d?

Flarfy (Level 5 Detective) at 1/12/2008 6:29:21 AM
Or what if you played a 3D game - and get this, this will blow your mind - it was made to be played with 3D goggles! w00t!

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/11/2008 2:02:19 PM
There hasn't REALLY been a 3-d game then.

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/11/2008 2:01:35 PM
Yes I do, Bob.  Then how did we pick a 3-d game if they were only on monitors?

Bob_Jones (Level 2 Peon) at 1/11/2008 2:00:36 PM
Koch, you realize that nothing on your computers monitor can LITERALLY be 3 dimensional, right?

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/11/2008 10:51:34 AM
Well the rules should of been a wee more specific, because just saying 3-D and 2-D implies 3 dimensions and 2 dimensions literally.

i love that game, well done.

reminds me of sim city #1. Or sim farm...

By conditions of the challenge you must pixel technically 2D mock up of technically 3D game. It is your choice how it will look like.

Metaru (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 1/10/2008 10:23:23 PM
OutRun, for example, is a simulation of a 3D plane by the use of 2D elements placed in a dinamic perspective (the closer the elements, the bigger.) but it is still a flat enviroment, it is still 2D.

ScarredShadow (Level 4 Deputy) at 1/10/2008 9:57:05 PM
3D is different.  The image you create in this way is 2d because it is flat.  3D Scenes have models that would take up real space, if monitors were 3d and not flat. ISO is allowed because it's not actually 3D, it's pretend 3D.  BY 3D it is meant like Halo 3 kind of 3d.  How console games are.

Kaminari (Level 1 Rookie) at 1/10/2008 1:16:33 PM
Thx.. but I think need more details... and change grass.. :)

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/10/2008 11:55:43 AM
Haha, Don't take it personally, Kaminari.    It's a pretty good mockup either way.

Kaminari (Level 1 Rookie) at 1/10/2008 10:58:21 AM
Heh.. Next time if need to do 2D I'll try samothing like Mario-style ))

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/10/2008 10:06:37 AM
2D can't have depth or it's 3D.  What it can have is multiple layers which make the illusion of depth.  So if you draw a cube in ISO it's 2-D?  Then if you draw a square in iso it's 1-D?  I think that means if I make a dot in ISO I disappear or go back in time or something. Interesting.

Metaru (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 1/10/2008 12:07:10 AM
a 2D image has (and needs) depth, height and width too. or else, backgrounds and perspective wouldn't exist.

also, iso lacks perspective. therefore it lacks depth.

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/9/2008 12:13:50 PM
Probably, but I still think it's a stretch.

Kaminari (Level 1 Rookie) at 1/9/2008 11:39:43 AM
Hm... Lollige used isometric too.. I think its allowed.

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/9/2008 10:12:07 AM
Isometric is in fact 3D since it has depth, height and width.

Frost (Level 5 Killer Klown) at 1/9/2008 10:08:21 AM
Nah, it's isometric, not 3D.

Koch (Level 6 Made) at 1/9/2008 7:45:50 AM
This is still 3 dimensional.
