OutRun, for example, is a simulation of a 3D plane by the use of 2D elements placed in a dinamic perspective (the closer the elements, the bigger.) but it is still a flat enviroment, it is still 2D.
3D is different. The image you create in this way is 2d because it is flat. 3D Scenes have models that would take up real space, if monitors were 3d and not flat. ISO is allowed because it's not actually 3D, it's pretend 3D. BY 3D it is meant like Halo 3 kind of 3d. How console games are.

2D can't have depth or it's 3D. What it can have is multiple layers which make the illusion of depth. So if you draw a cube in ISO it's 2-D? Then if you draw a square in iso it's 1-D? I think that means if I make a dot in ISO I disappear or go back in time or something. Interesting.
