Woah... I remember playing this game on the Wii. Your pixel art is definitely more exciting than the game was. Though, I remember the fun part of the game being able to build your own furniture.
I really love your 2D rendition of the 3D world. I agree though the colors should be more vibrant, as in the reference shot, maybe. The low contrast makes it feel dull
I just think this palette is more suitable for the zombi type of games. I'm a big fan of the colorful palettes and usually I use bright saturated colors myself but this colors win here for me.
My fault was to keep old palette for the preview, hehe.
I love burning colors so my choice is done ^___^ Your mock seems to have a sort of grey/blue filter on it. That is why I prefer a colorful version, but maybe that is just my tastes.
I know that you can do a nice color version , so do it !
I think it is seriously oversaturated and since the characters use the same colors it looks weird. I was changing palette like 10 or more times, jumping from saturated to this blue-ish one and back.
Probably that was the reason why I left the one you see on the preview.
