This was going to be for that pixel fad thing on deviantArt, but I didn't want to finish it, so yeah. This has seven colors including transparency.

It's pretty simple, but I like it. Didn't want to go dither crazy, so there is none.

As for reference, I don't think I used any picture in particular (probably just looked in the mirror sometimes), but here's a picture of myself at my best.

I also agree, and did an update. I'm not sure how noticeable it is since I'm not so good at the AAing, but yeah.

I'd suggest using the dark brown color to AA the black in addition to the darker flesh tone. It'll give the final picture a sleek, smooth effect.
