Well semi-semitrical is nice (the the light pool) since as a light source it should be spreading it's light evenly on both sides... But then it's mainly the top left corner that bugs me since it just looks like you've quickly curved off the square instead of thinking about the pool of light being cast by the bulb. I think the image is a-simetrical enough that it would still work if it was dead center, but that's personal preferance. Off center i think would be much better without the wonky lighting you've cramped into the left and done well with on the right.
So that's what they are! I couldn't figure it out, they don't read well as flies. The read better as bats actually as there is no distinct segmentation between the wings and the body. But that may just be me...
I do however love the lightbulb it'self and i think it was a relativly original idea. : )
I think the animation is distracting and really doesn't add anything to the peice. I liked it better when it didn't move, but i realise you had to animate it for the challenge. : ) I think it would improve if the "light" was more circular in shape and the lightbulb center. Also the black things in the pool of light confuse me as i can't seem to figure out what they are.
But for three colours it reads verry well (better when not animated) and i really like the exicution. : )
Cool! I like the colors
