Just an idea I got. I like the myths about greek gods and especially the one about Atlas
I nearly died when I did that positionings of his legs and feet X_x This is the first work where I tried to keep the amount of different colors as little as possible. I hope you like it.

with Black I mean dark outlines to define each muscle segment. the anatomy needs a revision, specially that left feett, hips, abs and torso in general. the hands does appear to be inverted (to me)due the use of shadowing, as if he were holding the globe with the back of his hand. the hand and the arm indeed appear to be in an impopsible position... as if thethe twist of thye hand was not really generated by the wrist yet by the elbow. also, i noticed that both body and globe does not share necesary the same ligthsource, while the character really looks pillowshaded on its muscles.
while the general concept is great, and the execution of the piece is great too, the only thing that still needs a revision is the character's overall anatomy. i would dismiss the use of black lines and instead use shadowing to define the muscles, and try to use a reference in order to be more acurate, because actually it really looks like there's a mess in his whole body, and rather apperas that he's made of segments of clay randomly attached to his body.
the hands are inverted, also. here's a good reference that might help, although its not in thye same perspective
What would make a comment from me so special? (I guess you are the first who thinks so ) One tip: Maybe you could make him a bit more human if you did not put a that dark line between his muscles and the rest of the body. And my comment was so positive because I do like it alot!
@lollige: the legs were a pain in the a** to make yes. whatever position I made, it looked wierd, that was the one which was most satisfying. I used a globe not a map, so a round one :). thx btw, it's nice to get a positiv comment by you :)
Very nice work! However I find the left leg of atlas, even if its technically right look very weird.. Great work on painting the earth on that ball! Did you use a round referrence or a flat one?
