Nah, it just has antialiasing then; I draw text thrice to create the depth effect. Here's a screenie of it on my desktop. The orange and blue in the screenie are MSFT's subpixel antialiasing technique, which works pretty well on LCDs.

Nice, but I guess it would look much worse when there was just a standard flat system font :(
