DJD and I are once again making a game for the YYG Competition, this time the theme is ancient civilizations. Heres a mockup of our advanced wars clone: ancient wars(title pending :F) Hopefully we'll finish it this time. Forgive the little npa in the bottom left.

Readability is killa, I can never pull off anything recognizable at sizes that small.

I assure the crowd, this game will be finished or I'll actually start posting my pixelart!

on a side note, I really like this. I wasn't exactly keen on the large road size and the gold text (even though I set it up that way, but that's neither here nor there) but overall it looks great. I'm a fan of the reeds in the water and I think you should add some unique grass tiles, perhaps some flowers or such.

Oh and adarias, we'll make a cracked up whimsical version just for you. :F

i've never been roughed up for a little NPA when it comes to transparent shapes. it's much more dishonest to display the game without the additive than it is to include it.

i like this, makes me think of warsong. only question is, why does everyone who does rome think they need to make it grainy and drab? what's wrong with making it super mario brutus?

The little golden dude above in the bottom left reminds me of Gilgamesh from Tower of Druaga. :3

I don't understand the problem with the little npa. I said it was npa and im not trying to decieve anyone, I just want it to be displayed as it would be in game. Plus it looks really lame as just a gray box.

Thats vey cool, but are the characters etc edited? becuase that would be against the rules... And the NPA thingy is so easy to remove, so please do...
