Here's a little mockup I made of some of the cavern level graphics I've been drawing for the other TG16/PCE game we are working on, a "run n' gun" platformer called PC-Gunjin. This portion of the level scrolls vertically and is heavy on precision jumping and parallax scrolling. The entire premise of this game borrows heavily from such games as Contra, Gunstar Heroes and Metal Slug.

It's got potential for sure. I agree on the love of the right character. Background is kind of distracting/high contrast. Also the dithering on the characters is distracting/noisy.
