A parrot I pixeled, although referenced from a photo I shaded the feathers red for example leaving texturing aswell as shading in the form of dithering up to myself to get the hang of pixels because I'm only new to this.

The shading doesn't seem to show the care and precision usually used in pixelart. It seems as if it were drawn using the pencil tool in an oekaki-esque manner. It also doesn't seem to make any sense in regard to texture or lightsource. And yes, ref please.
