I'm not going to lie, this is pretty bad, not the worst out there but its still pretty bad. My suggestion: Use some reference, pixel works(Only because this is pixel art, if it weren't, I wouldn't suggest it), photos and real life are your biggies. I've even taken the liberty of snatching a few images from google:

Yep, that's superman. The dithering on the body is a little off ... but I like it none-the-less!
