I like this ... it does have some rough spots, but over-all I like it.

I don't know what you mean by overpainted, but the original image file was a fully shaded painting that wasn't a pixel art.

well now it says 187 colours... it would be better if the lines were smoother....

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. Obviously I've never done any ambitious pixel art before and I don't know the terms or definitions. And I don't think I can improve upon this drawing based on my current skill and experience. I guess I'll take it down, I wouldn't want it hanging around if it's not real pixel art.

I see. You pixelled over a fully shaded painting. This is a bad thing to do because it leave artifacts which accounts for a lot of colors. An example is the 3 brown pixels on the shoe. The logo on the chest is so well AAd, whereas the lack of AA in other areas that DO need it don't, implies that the logo is not pixelart and with transparency also adds many colors. If you pixelled the logo then rotated and skewed then it is NOT pixelart.
The lineart is jaggy and sloppy and in the future should be clean for optimum respect, kudos and brownie points ;)

You may choose to do what you'd like and its cool. I won't add it to your gallery because of the iffyness caused by the color count...however...if the PJ community votes enough for inclusion to the gallery, in it will go, this may take a little while of sitting in the public queue.

Thanks for the crit. I have no idea where the 188 colors are, either, but the original ID was a fully shaded painting, it may have been counting those colors.

The lineart could indeed be a bit more smooth, but I really like it! But as Jal said, where are those 188 colours? Maybe you could reduce that and the colouring could be improved a bit as well... You're only highlighting or shadowing small places of the canvas, it makes it a little flat... But other than that it is very nice, keep it up
