Done for Pixel Academy Fighter Sprite course by Frostbite. Been a while since I attempted a fighter sprite. Wanted to avoid the usual Street Fighter/King of Fighters type of character so felt like heading down Darkstalkers way but up the evil a bit. Did my usual 'Feral' character but gone very evil looking. Because of torture through machines and black magics a new man beast side has emerged from him rather than his usual werewolf side. The chains are from where he was held captive.

Have also done another few alternate palettes for him like most beat 'em ups have (Default palette is the first one). Yes, I like using black, high contrasts and saturation. It's just what I like doing right now. Each uses 15 colors including transparency. I'm bout 95% satisfied with this and I feel its a good concept piece for something I have in mind that I will do later on. Couple of small areas bother me but all attempts to fix them have failed

pretty hawt.  .. i like the way you use black to give it a shadowed feal.  i also think that you do an awasome job  of muscle definition =)

these are really cool. I like the green one best

lunarknight (Level 2 Quiet One) at 1/12/2006 2:45:28 PM
Wow, I like these a lot. Out of the colour variations the blue (second) one is my favourite.

Atooi (Level 5 Soldier) at 1/5/2006 1:07:05 PM

Personally I have no complaints and I like the green one the best, so there.

HawkTheSlayer (Level 4 Button Man) at 6/19/2005 4:06:51 PM
Very feral, reminds me of a picture in my mind of a Gangrel character that I once played in 'V.T.M'
Well presented, if only it moved, I can imagine him very easily fitting in to a Capcom or SNK fighter, I mean you already have the different colour selections for mirror matches!!
Faving it  now!!!

Nothing wrong with his chin at all...it suits him

Wolverine (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 5/27/2005 12:04:11 PM
Ah to hell with it... I'm gonna take a shot at redoing his right leg...on our left.  I like the way ther other one kinda bulges.  Don't really have much time for this but its now bugging the hell outta me and probably always will now... dammit I hate thinking I'm done with something then finding myself reworking it days later.  Shoulda just posted the top half... though someone said his chin looks too bulgey or something...

Wolverine (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 5/27/2005 11:11:10 AM
Hmm I think I see what ya mean.  Weird cos I actually used a Batman action figure as muscle reference for the legs cos it was the only source I could find that I liked.  Maybe I did get it wrong cos I did draw each leg on a different day thanks to my damn neighbors and their crappy hip hop with superbass coming up through my floor shaking my apartment and killing my concentration.  I'd get so much more work done if I lived in a nice quiet isolated cabin somewhere...  ahh well...

Mull77 (Level 1 Hired Gun) at 5/27/2005 10:27:36 AM

I think the problem is that the muscles don't totally match each other.  There are two sections on the top of his (to us) right leg which narrow as they progress down his leg, but on his left leg they run the whole length of his leg.  I know this probably isn't the place for C&C, but  when you see something that's almost perfect you can't help it.

You can of course just tell me to shut my big fat mouth.

Wolverine (Level 8 Brigadier General) at 5/27/2005 10:08:55 AM
Leg muscles?  They're actually the main part I felt came out the way I wanted.  Though some people have seemed to think 'his' right forearm is part of his leg.  Which is why I felt like animating it to show it ain't but I don't have the time.

fr0st (Level 4 Killer Klown) at 5/27/2005 9:56:07 AM
i love the different colour variations, i prefer the second from last one, but ye i agree with Mull, the leg on the left looks a bit skewed and the muscles dont look right, but apart from thts its mint, gd job

Mull77 (Level 1 Hired Gun) at 5/27/2005 6:11:38 AM
Wow, looks great!  The only niggle is that his muscles on his legs don't look quite right.  Apart from that, really nice.

sedgemonkey (Level 10 Master Sniper) at 5/26/2005 10:44:32 PM
Excellent work. I agree with finite... your character design is top notch.
